Rocky

Next we hired a concrete pro (coincidentally named Rocky) to deconstruct the giant rock slab next to our house and repour the cracked driveway and side walk.

Before:

After:

Concrete lightens as it dries, and it doesn't dry evenly, so the pic of the newly poured driveway is kinda nasty. The walkway pic is more accurate. It's hard to see, but they used a decorative stamp to give the concrete a slate texture. They're coming back in a month to dye it whatever color we want. We picked a smoky grey. Will post more pics after that goes down.

How to tranform formica into marble for $100

1. You have an ugly turquoise formica countertop.
2. You hate it.
3. You can't afford to replace it.
4. You paint it.

5. You buy a sea sponge and another color of paint and go to town.

6. You mix together the first and second color to create a third color (cuz you're too cheap to buy it) and you sponge on some contrast.

7. You sponge the original color over everything.

8. You dump epoxy polymer on top, spread it around, let it dry, and wa-la. Beautiful food-safe shiny marble countertops.

(If you get polymer on your dog, it will stay in his hair for approximately 2 months.)
